Steve has over 30 years combined opportunistic lending, restructuring and investment banking experience through various market cycles and has led Prescient Capital to national recognition as a specialty finance company.
Prior to founding Prescient, Steve was recruited to New York by Sandler O’Neill & Partners LLP, a leading Wall Street investment banking firm focused on middle-market financial institutions.
Steve has provided advice to financial institutions seeking to improve their margins, return on assets, return on equity and overall financial results. Steve is a graduate of University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in structural and environmental engineering.
Michael Rowland Chief Financial Officer
Michael has over 20 years of financial and strategic leadership experience and is pivotal in shaping the firm’s financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Before joining Prescient, Michael was instrumental in overseeing estate and financial planning, taxes, investments, and private equity for family offices and accounting institutions, such as Vogel Consulting, Ziegler Family Office, and SVA.
His analytical acumen and strategic vision enable him to navigate complex financial landscapes and deliver exceptional value to investors and stakeholders. Michael holds a Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Carrie Niese Director
Carrie has over 25 years of stakeholder relations, marketing, and corporate communications and is instrumental in loan origination and organizational operations.
Before Prescient, Carrie held significant roles with luxury good brands Harry Winston, Escada, Tiffany & Co, and Neiman Marcus while living in New York City. Her diverse background enables her to wear many hats, playing an integral and strategic role on our small team.
Carrie received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and certifications in digital marketing and business analytics from New York University and Cornell University.
Jacob Sellers General Counsel
Jacob serves as outside general counsel and strategic advisor, responsible for all loan documents, verifying borrowers’ loan obligations, and working with borrower attorneys and third parties to complete the loan transaction.
He is a seasoned litigator who represents plaintiffs and defendants of all sizes, from sole proprietors to Fortune 500 companies, in complex commercial litigation matters before state and federal courts, and in high-risk, bet-the-company situations.
Jacob graduated magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and cum laude from the University of Connecticut.

Daniel is part of Prescient Capital Management, LLC.
Prior to Prescient, Dan was a Principal with The Presidio Group, a premier, independent financial advisory firm focusing on investment banking, capital advisory, and private equity. Before joining Presidio, Dan was with Morgan Stanley in various divisions in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. Before Morgan Stanley Dan was a Commander in the U.S. Navy where he served worldwide as a carrier-based F/A-18 pilot and graduated from the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
Dan earned his MBA with Honors from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
